I've been up for work since 3:45!!!!

I have to leave in a few minutes, but I just wanted to make a little rambling post before I do.

I think Sienna is sick. =/ I am not really sure though, because she seems fine now. But we took her to the vet yesterday and she had a fever and was hiding in the sink cowering. She had been hiding for the last few days...but I discovered that she is afraid of the ceiling fan in the living room (WTF?), so I think that might have been why she was hiding. It is off right now and she is lying on the floor in the computer room next to me, so I dunno. *shrug*

I WORK MY GAY SHIFT TONIGHT. :| I work 5-1, then come back home, go to sleep, and have to get back up at 10pm to go back to work until 8 in the morning!! LAME LAME LAME. BUT. Then I have the weekend off, and don't have to work anymore until Monday, yay!

I was going to leave a little early and get a coffee, but I am trying to limit my caffeine consumption until tonight, because last week I think I had a little too much caffeine and I was sick for a few hours of the overnight shift. :P But I didn't fall asleep, so yaaaaaaay!

Brad is going to the bank today to see what we can find out about a mortgage loan...if it's reasonable we're going to make an offer on the house. THEN I COULD HAVE A DOGGIE YAY!

ANYWAY. I have to get going, so I must leave now. *disappears!*

I GOT A CAR!!!

A BRAND NEW CAR THAT'S ALL MINE AND SHINY AND NOT SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!

This is the entire side view. As you can see, it's black. :P It's got only 2 doors, and it's a super cute little hatchback! :D

The front. Even though I am not usually a fan of Fords, I really like the way this one is styled. Plus the Focus has been getting great reviews and it gets 37 MPG, LOL. <333

The back. It's got a back windshield wiper, YAY! And you can see the hatchback style here.

MP3 CD FTW. Ignore the fact that I have a soda there. :P

It's a manual (THANK GOD), it plays MP3 CDs, and it has A/C. It's only 2 door, which is not really a big deal to me since it's just Brad and I right now, and we really don't have other people in our car very often.

The only thing it doesn't have but I wish it did was cruise control...but even that doesn't bother me that much. I never really used cruise control until I got with Brad anyway.

I am sad that it couldn't be in my name...=/ My credit is really crappy. I have almost zero credit history and the one thing I do have on there is bad (medical bill...2200 dollars they are never getting from me because they didn't do shit >:O) So I had them take me off and it's only in Brad's name...but we got a much better deal that way.

Car ended up costing us 15,000ish (for a brand new car with 20 miles on it, lol), but since Brad has awesome credit, we owed no money upfront (but I traded in my Volvo for 2600 dollars, whee), and the interest is only 9.0%, which was better than we were expecting. It's a little more than we were going to spend on a car, but this is going to last us a while. I AM SO EXCITED. This is my first brand new car that is all mine and I really am thrilled. ^_______^

BUT YAYAYAYAYAY NEW CAR!!! I can't wait to show it off at work tomorrow, lol.

SERIOUSLY. I AM SO HAPPY.

This is Brad and I's first *big* investment together. :O Here's to many more...hopefully a house soon (in the next couple of years).

But yeah...what else about the car...

It's got a big trunk, which is nice since now we can have lots of room for groceries. :D Bucket seats...it's got a nice interior. I am pretty sure it's mostly a bare-bones model, but it runs and it's cute and I love it so much. <3333

I still work at Shaw's but I am now a Gamestop employee once again. :OOOO

ONE DAY A WEEK FOR MY DISCOUNT, BITCHES!!!

Brad started at Shaw's (the other one down the road) today. I am happy for him; I think he will be fine.

I've been pretty stressed out lately, which is why I haven't really been updating...I've been trying not to pollute my friend's page with stupid, pointless work drama, but I'm getting pretty fed up and today I pretty much had a complete breakdown and I just need to vent.

Heather is my main manager - she got sent away to Ludlow, which is a town about 30 miles from where I live right now to help out the CSM (customer service manager) they hired who doesn't know jack shit. The funny thing is, I applied for that job and they didn't hire me, but I've been trained on how to do all the CSM work (and I do it all the time), but whatever. They hired her instead of me and now they have to clean up the mess because of it. Whatever. *shrug* Anyway, Heather is gone helping there for a few months, and then she is helping with the IBM conversion (all of our computers right now run on Innovax, which is it's own system...I am assuming the new IBM system is going to either be Windows based or something similar...I do know that it is going to be more modern and up to date, at the very least), so she is not going to be back to our store until September. This upsets me, because I really like Heather and we worked well together, so I was sad to see her leave.

The other reason I am upset that she is gone is because the store has *COMPLETELY* fallen apart now that she is gone, and it's really testing the limits of my patience, and I have lots and LOTS of patience.

Lots of things are not getting done - I posted a big Nastygram(TM) in the service desk about how no one is doing their basic responsibilities anymore, and just because Heather is gone, does not mean that it is okay for them to stop doing what they are supposed to be doing. Basically, it's the night people who are doing this, but there are sometimes when it is happening in the day as well. I am not sure a note is going to get through to people...but it's all I can really do since i am not a manager.

That's what bothers me...they GIVE me all the manager responsibilities, the headaches, and the stress...but NONE of the authority to do something when something is wrong, and none of the pay that goes with those things I have to do. There are regular cashiers who are making more money at Shaw's than I am, and that is just not fair. I've talked with Heather about it, Grace (our ACSM) about it, Wayne (our Store manager) about it, Jen (our HRA) about it...there is nothing they can do because there is technically no position they can promote me into. Here's a list of what a person in my position (bookkeeper/CSR) is supposed to be doing.

*Daily bookkeeping work
*Overs and shorts
*Lottery inventory
*Service desk work
*Watching the checkout
*Closing the checkout/opening the checkout
*Cashiering
*Bagging

Now, here is a list of the things that I have to do at Shaw's, that are TOTALLY outside of my job description -

*Weekly schedules
*Weekly paperwork
*XBR counseling/new checker coaching
*Write-ups
*Shrink meeting
*Checker coaching
*Mediator (for some reason, everyone comes to me with their problems instead of going to their manager)
*Forecasting (predicting hours we earn for the checkout)

There's more...but that's all manager stuff. Do I do it? Yes. I want to help out and I would like to be promoted some day soon, so I keep doing these things even though I don't get paid any extra for them. Do I like being told that I have no authority to CHANGE the very thing that I am supposed to be doing? No.

We are supposed to be rotating Saturday nights...I am working this Saturday night (with the exception of this past weekend, I work every Saturday [usually night] and I had not had one off for close to 6 months), and I logged into the computer to check my schedule...they have me working next Saturday night too.

*I WOULD NOT MIND WORKING EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT IF WE HAD COVERAGE!!!*

I didn't mind working each Saturday before. But the people who work there are lazy and don't want to work Saturdays, so Saturday night...the busiest night of the week...I'll usually have 3-4 cashiers after 6. To show you how little that is...on Friday night we usually have 6 or 7 cashiers at that time. Plus a CSR. So on Friday there could be as many as 8 people there...Saturday...sometimes its just 4. That's INCLUDING me. It's insane, it's stressing me out, and I don't want to have to be the only one who has to deal with it anymore. But, they've got me scheduled gain for Saturday night.

Grace told me I can't change it. I am supposed to be doing the schedule...but I can't alter any management hours. What if something else needed to change? I can't change anything. So, I'll just not go if they schedule me Saturday night - I don't care. I say that now...but I know I will probably end up going, heh. I wouldn't do to the other people who work there what happens to me all the time - being left high and dry with no help at all.

But seriously, it's horseshit, and I'm sick of it.

There's more, but Brad went to bed and I want to snuggle him before he falls asleep...the rest will have to wait for another time.

The car place said if they do not have a used part for the coolant fan (which is what broke), it would be THREE HUNDERD DOLLARS, plus labor. Plus my tires were never installed correctly. ;___________;

My car is only worth like, 1 grand or so...this sucks. It's not worth it for me to fix it, but then I am without a car...>_>
