Soooo...
I kinda inherited this hamster. =/
I just got into work, and I was doing my regular morning routine when Leslie (our assistant produce manager) came down into the checkout, giggling about something. I was wondering what was going on so I walked over to ask her, and she tells me there is a mouse in the front entry way and she wants Mr. Bryant (our store manager) to get it out. Now, Wayne (Mr. Bryant) is really afraid of mice. XD So I said I would go get it - I've caught lots of rodents before and I don't mind picking them up.
So, I walk over to the fron entryway and Carrie says it has no tail. I'm going "Buuh...rats and mice have tails..." so I ask how big it was and they gave me an estimate of 5 or 6 inches (?!). So I thought it was a guinea pig, since I still hadn't seen it.
We rooted around, and Carrie finally spotted it. I threw a coat over it, picked it up...and TADA. Hamster.
WTF? Who the hell leaves their hamster in the front entryway of a grocery store? The poor thing was terrified - screaming in a way I've never heard a creature scream and squirming like mad. I finally calmed him down, bought a little tank, and placed him in my car, and now he's sitting on my dresser, looking cutie in a nice little hamster cage I got him. He likes the tubulars. X)
BUT. Brad says I can't keep him. ;_____________; But I can't just put him out on the street. Plus, he's SUPER SOFT and grey. Like a chinchilla soft.
I named him Buster after the dummy on Mythbusters. XD
I LUFF HIM. If I can get him to stay still I will post some pictures.
